Prochaska, Samuels-Thomas Named Papa John's Athletes Of The Week

Each week, the Bowling Green State University Athletic Department names the Papa John's Athletes of the Week, as selected by the athletic communications department based on their athletic performances from the previous week. This week's winners are hockey player Justin Samuels-Thomas and women's basketball player Lauren Prochaska.
Male Athlete of the Week
Jordan Samuels-Thomas, a sophomore from South Windsor, Conn., was named to the 60th Annual RPI Holiday Tournament All-Tournament Team after scoring twice on the weekend and adding an assist. He had a +2 on-ice rating and had a goal and an assist in a 5-1 win over Alabama-Huntsville. He then scored another goal late in the second period of the championship game against RPI.
Female Athlete of the Week
Lauren Prochaska, a senior from Plain City, Ohio, led the Falcons in scoring and rebounding as BGSU went 3-0 on the week. She averaged 19.3 points, 7.3 rebounds and 1.3 blocks per game, while adding 2.3 assists per game as the Falcons beat Detroit, Arkansas Little Rock, and Seattle. She had a game-high 26 points in a win over Detroit and finished with 23 points adn 10 rebounds against Arkansas Little Rock, setting a school record by going 15-for-15 from the free-throw line. She then finished with nine points and five rebounds against Seattle to be named MVP of the Seattle Tournament.
