Bowling Green, Ohio – Bowling Green State University senior Joe Jakubowski is one of 66 NCAA Division I men's basketball players named as a candidate for the 2011 Bob Cousy Award recognizing the top point guard in the country.
Jakubowski entered the 2010-11 season with 85 career starts, 10th most in the country. He started every game as a sophomore and a junior after starting the second half of his freshman year. This year, Jakubowski has started seven of the team's 11 games, averaging 3.0 points, 2.5 assists and 1.5 rebounds per game.
