February 22, 2010 | General, Ice Hockey, Softball
Each week, the Bowling Green State University Athletic Department names the Papa John's Athletes of the Week, as selected by the athletic communications department based on their athletic performances from the previous week. This week's winners are hockey player Nick Eno and softball player Paige Berger.
Male Athlete of the Week
Nick Eno, a junior from Howell, Mich., was key in the team's five-point weekend over Notre Dame. In Friday's 4-3 win over the Irish, Eno stopped 21-of-24 shots. Saturday, Eno stood on his head when he stopped a total of 37 shots on the evening, 17 of which came in the first period alone. After allowing only one goal in regulation and overtime, Eno was tested in the ensuing shootout as he forced two failed shots out of three attempts while his team tallied two scores for the shootout victory. He finished the weekend with a 1.92 goals against average and saved 93.7 percent of shots against him with a two-game save total of 58. In his last five games, he is 2-1-3 with two shootout victories.
Female Athlete of the Week
