LAST TIME OUT
Last weekend featured the Falcons second five-point weekend this season with a win in regulation and shootout win against the UND Fighting Irish on Feb. 19-20. Game one featured a goal from each class as Nathan Pageau (Fr., F), Brennan Vargas (So., F), Wade Finegan (Jr., F) and Kai Kantola (Sr., F) all scoring goals in a 4-3 BGSU win. Pageau scored the game-winner on a break away chance that started at the BGSU end with the tally made at 10:47 in the third. On Saturday night, the Irish had the lead through the second period and mid-way through the third until Tomas Petruska (Sr., F) scored the game-tying goal at 9:41 in the third enducing an overtime period and shootout. In the shootout, Bowling Green took it by a 2-1 score with Petruska finishing the deal with the shootout decider.
DENNIS WILLIAMS PRESS CONFERENCE
SENIOR NIGHTHIGHLIGHTS SATURDAY GAME...
Before Saturday night's regular season finale begins against No. 12/13 Michigan State, eight of our beloved Falcons will be honored for their contributions to the BGSU Hockey Program and for their achievements over the last four years. Kyle Page (Wixom, Mich.), James Perkin (Calgary, Alb.), Josh Boyd (Columbus, Ohio), Kai Kantola (Raleigh, N.C.), Phil Greer (Franklin, Mass.), Brian Moore (Carmel, Ind.), Tomas Petruska (Presov, Slovakia) and Tommy Dee (Maple Grove, Minn.) will all be recognized prior to their last home game wearing the Brown and Orange. Combined, these eight men have played in 813 games, scored 107 goals, 145 assists and 252 points in their careers. Greer has played in games against Ohio State and Miami. Five of the seven seniors not between the posts have set career highs in at least one of the three major offensive categories.
... SERVED WITH A SIDE OF MORROW
Not to overshadow the senior class celebrations, but there will be a special guest in the BGSU Ice Arena to witness the final home game of the 2009-10 season. Former Falcon (1975-79) and one of the men on the ice for the 'Miracle on Ice' for the U.S.A. hockey team during the 1980 Winter Olympics, Ken Morrow, will return to Bowling Green to show his support for the BGSU hockey program on Saturday night. Morrow played in 152 games during his Falcon career scoring 34 goals and 91 assists (125 points). During the 1980 Olympic games, he scored five goals, assisted on 20 scores (25 points) en route to defeating Finland in the gold medal round. In his ten year career with the New York Islanders (NHL) he posted 17 goals, 88 assists and 105 points between 1980 and 1989.
