Dee Brown Named MAC East Player Of The Week

Cleveland, Ohio – Bowling Green State University's Dee Brown has been named the Mid-American Conference East Division Men's Basketball Player of the Week after leading the Falcons to victories over Texas San Antonio and Saint Louis in a three-day span. It is the second time in Brown's career that he has received the award.
Brown averaged 14.5 points per game as the Falcons beat UTSA 70-59 Thursday and then went on the road to beat Saint Louis, of the Atlantic 10, 67-61. It was Bowling Green's first road victory of the year.
Brown made 9-of-17 shots on the week and went to the free-throw line 16 more times, making 11. He added nine rebounds, four assists and three steals in the win. Against Saint Louis, Brown had a team-high 21 points to go with three assists and three rebounds without a turnover, making 3-of-4 free-throws in the final 14 seconds to seal the win. In the game against UTSA, he had eight points, six rebounds and three steals to help the Falcons close on a 20-9 run to pull away late.
Western Michigan's Juwan Howard Jr. was named the West Division Player of the Week after posting 22 points and 10 rebounds in a win over Eastern Illinois.
Since starting the year 1-8, Bowling Green has won four of its last five games and three in a row heading into MAC play. The Falcons will be at Buffalo Saturday at 7 p.m.
