Jones, Kain Named Papa John's Athletes Of The Week

Each week, the Bowling Green State University Athletic Department names the Papa John's Athletes of the Week, as selected by the athletic communications department based on their athletic performances from the previous week. This week's winners are football player Chris Jones and swimmer Alexis Kain.
Male Athlete of the Week
Chris Jones, a junior from Brownsburg, Ind., had six tackles and three sacks as the BGSU football team defeated Temple 13-10 Saturday. Jones and the Falcon defense held Temple to just 284 yards of offense, including only 66 through the air. His 7.0 sacks on the year rank eighth in school history and leads the Mid-American Conference.
Female Athlete of the Week
Alexis Kain, a junior from Cincinnati, Ohio, swept the 100 and 200 breastroke in a triangular meet with John Carroll and Oakland. In the 100, she won by a half-second with a time of 1:05.89 and then won by 1.5 seconds in the 200 with a time of 2:24.60. She also helped the Falcons win the 200 medley relay, finishing the second leg in 29.68 seconds. In the 400 freestyle relay, Kain's team placed second.
