Falcon Recruiting Class Ranks Near the Top

Dave Clawson's 2011 recruiting class ranks near the top of several national recruiting services. The class, which consists of 22 student-athletes, is ranked fourth in the MAC by Rivals.com and Scout.com.
The fourth-place ranking is the highest recruiting class for BGSU since the 2004 class was ranked third.
Six Falcons were given a “three-star” tag, which is the most awarded to the BGSU football program since the beginning of the Rivals website. Herve Coby, Zach Colvin, Chris Gallon, Alex Huettel, Matt Johnson and Christian Piazza, all who signed National Letters of Intent on Wed. (Feb. 2) were labeled as “three-star” recruits.
The 2010 recruiting class had five “three-star” recruits, giving the Falcons 11 over the past two seasons.
Scout.com awarded six Falcons with the “three-star” tag as well: Bryan Baird, Coby, Colvin, Johnson, Huettel and Piazza. In three years under Clawson the Falcons' recruiting class has finished second (2009) and fourth twice (2010 and 2011) according to Scout.com.
