Falcons Remain In 16th After Day Two of Rio Verde Invitational

On Saturday (March 5) at the 2011 Rio Verde Invitational, the Bowling Green State University women's golf team continued to struggle for solid footing in their first tournament of the spring season.
Bailey Arnold, a freshman from Cincinnati, Ohio, carded the Orange and Brown's best score of the tournament on Saturday when she shot 80 for the 18 holes. Arnold has secured a total of 163 thus far, and she remains in a tie for 61st place.
Three Falcons registered scores of 87 on Saturday. Marisa Glew's 87 followed a first-round total of 83, giving her a total of 170. Amy Ruthenberg is one shot behind Glew with 171 (84-87). Paula DiFrancesco earned one of BGSU's two birdies on Saturday and matched her Friday total of 87 to finish the day with an overall score of 174.
Senior co-captain Lauren Glew shot the Falcons' other birdie on Saturday and improved her play by three strokes to finish with 181 (92-89) for the first 36 holes.
Eastern Michigan continues to lead the tournament, while Akron's Kristen Hill has grabbed the individual lead.
The final round will begin at 8:00 a.m. MT on Sunday morning with a shotgun start. The Falcons will start play on the 16th, 17th and 18th holes, as they did on Saturday. BGSU will be paired with Ohio University's team, as well as individuals from Western Michigan and Cincinnati.
