Preseason Practices Get Underway for Men's Soccer Falcons

The Bowling Green State University men's soccer student-athletes are in town, and the 2011 preseason is officially underway. After several organizational meetings on Wednesday evening (Aug. 10), the team members took part in a fitness test, followed by the first practice of the preseason, on Thursday morning (Aug. 11).

Head coach Eric Nichols begins his third season at the helm of the Falcons, and welcomes back a total of 17 letterwinners, including eight starters, from last year's team. Nichols and assistants Charlie Edwards and Paul Habrecht have five seniors on this year's roster, including Colin Armstrong, Byard Ebling, Tanner Fink, Chris Jurtovski and Miguel Rosales.
The Falcons have little time before their first test, a scrimmage at Cincinnati on Monday night (Aug. 15). After a home scrimmage vs. Butler on Aug. 21, the Brown and Orange will open the regular season with three consecutive matches at Cochrane Field, beginning with a contest vs. 2010 College Cup participant Michigan on Aug. 26.
