Cooper, Galen Named Papa John's Athletes Of The Week

Each week, the Bowling Green State University Athletic Department names the Papa John's Athletes of the Week, as selected by the athletic communications department based on their athletic performances from the previous week. This week's winners are football player Eugene Cooper and volleyball player Kari Galen.
Male Athlete of the Week
Eugene Cooper, a senior from Mount Vernon, N.Y., scored two touchdowns and posted career-highs in receptions (four) and receiving yards (110) in the Falcons' 32-15 win over Idaho. Cooper caught back-to-back touchdowns of 76 and 24 yards to give BGSU an early 14-7 lead to help the Falcons to victory.
Female Athlete of the Week
Kari Galen, a junior from Aurora, Ill., was named Most Valuable Player at the USF Volleyball Invitational after leading the Falcons to a 4-0 record. She had eight kills and a career-high 10 blocks as Bowling Green beat Eastern Kentucky and followed that up with at least five blocks in each of the next three matches. In all, Galen had 29 kills, 26 blocks, and attacked at a .386 rate.
