Eastern Michigan comes to town on Alumnae Day / Dollar Day
The Bowling Green State University women's basketball team, having completed the first swing through the Mid-American Conference's East Division with a 5-0 record, now begins cross-divisional play ... the Falcons of head coach Curt Miller, looking to extend an eight-game overall winning streak, host Eastern Michigan University in Sunday (Jan. 22) action ... tipoff is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. at the brand-new Stroh Center ... the game will be aired by SportsTime Ohio, and also can be seen on ESPN Full Court and ESPN3.com.

• Sunday's game is a matchup of the MAC's divisional leaders ... BGSU, as mentioned, has a perfect 5-0 conference mark, and the Falcons lead Miami by a game in the East Division race ... • Sunday's game is also a rematch of last year's MAC Tournament Championship game ... the Falcons downed EMU, 51-46, last March 12 at Quicken Loans Arena in downtown Cleveland, earning the league tourney crown and the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Championships.

• Both the Falcons and the Eagles are coming off big wins to close the first round of intradivisional action ... BGSU picked up a 61-58 win at Miami Thursday night (Jan. 19), in a battle of the league's only two unbeaten teams ... EMU also played a showdown for first place, as the Eagles downed visiting Central Michigan, 73-60, in Ypsilanti ... both EMU and CMU had entered that game with 3-1 league records, and were tied for the West Division lead heading into that Thursday contest.
• At Miami, a pair of Southwest Ohio natives came up big ... senior Jessica Slagle scored 10 of her 15 points in the last six-plus minutes of the game, while redshirt sophomore Alexis Rogers had her fourth double-double in the last five games ... Rogers led the Falcons with 16 points and 11 rebounds.
• The Falcons' win snapped Miami's 10-game winning streak, and extended BGSU's current streak to eight games ... BG had a seven-game streak earlier in the season ... MU's just-ended run was only the third double-digit winning streak by a MAC team (other than BGSU) since the beginning of the 2005-06 season ... the Falcons have had six such streaks in that time.

• On Monday (Jan 16), Rogers was named MAC Player of the Week, earning that honor for the second time this season ... Rogers averaged 17.0 points and 9.0 rebounds per game as the Falcons downed Ohio and Buffalo last week ... she had a double-double in the first game, with 15 points and a team-leading 11 rebounds, then had a BG-best 19 points in just 21 minutes at UB ... Rogers shot 50 percent from the field in the two wins, and hit both of her three-point attempts on the week.
• BG, after beginning the season with a pair of losses, has won 15 of the last 16 games ... the Falcons reeled off a seven-game win streak, suffered a two-point loss at Creighton (Dec. 18), and have won eight consecutive contests since that setback.
• The 2011-12 campaign marks the third season in a row that the Falcons have had two win streaks of at least seven games ... last season, BG had a 15-game win streak as well as an 11-game streak ... two years ago, the Falcons put together a pair of eight-game streaks ... technically, BGSU did not have two seven-game win streaks in the 2008-09 season ... that's because the Falcons had one streak of 25-straight wins that extended from late November into early March.
• Freshman Jasmine Matthews has logged a lot of court time over the last three games ... Matthews set a career high with 37 minutes played against Ohio, and has now reached that number in three-straight games, playing 37 minutes vs. both Buffalo and Miami ... in fact, she played over 68 consecutive minutes during a span that bridged the Ohio and UB games.
• BG had 42 rebounds to Miami's 36 on Thursday ... it marked the 13th-straight game the Falcons have held the advantage on the glass ... the Falcons had been outrebounded in each of the season's first five games ... BGSU is now 12-1 this season and 160-14 in the Curt Miller Era when outrebounding the opponent.
• The Falcons are the winningest team in MAC history, and BGSU recently became the first league women's hoops program to post 350 conference victories ... BG is now 353-145 in MAC regular-season games, for a winning percentage of 70.9% – the most wins and highest percentage of any conference team.
