Hammond, Slagle Named Papa John's Athletes Of The Week

Each week, the Bowling Green State University Athletic Department names the Papa John's Athletes of the Week, as selected by the athletic communications department based on their athletic performances from the previous week. This week's winners are hockey player Andrew Hammond and women's basketball player Jessica Slagle.
Male Athlete of the Week
Andrew Hammond, a junior from Surrey, British Columbia, went 1-1-0 this weekend against No. 13 Western Michigan. He made 57 saves in two games, posting a 2.01 goals against average with a .934 save percentage. He recorded his career-best eighth win of the season Saturday night in a 2-1 victory over the Broncos.
Female Athlete of the Week
Jessica Slagle, a senior guard from Sidney, Ohio, had arguably the best week of her collegiate career, averaging 20.5 points, 4.5 assists, and 3.0 steals as Bowling Green beat Ball State and Central Michigan. She set new career-highs with 22 points and five steals in the win over Ball State and then had 19 points in an overtime victory over CMU.
