Women's Golf Working In The Community
January 31, 2012 | Women's Golf
On Friday, Jan. 27, the Bowling Green State University women's golf team and head coach Stephanie Young gave back to the community by spending time with area children at two locations.
During the afternoon, Young and team members Patricia Holt and Shelby Wilson visited the All About The Kids Learning Center. The group demonstrated golf swing movements and warm-up stretches that relate to golf. They also played games with the children at the center, including gator golf putting, duck-duck-goose and “Simon Says”.
Later that evening, the Falcons helped out for the second consecutive year at the Kenwood Elementary Snowball Dance. All seven members of the team plus Young served snacks and refreshments and helped with the photo booth. The team also danced and interacted with the children and parents in attendance.
Young said, “We love being involved with the activities at Kenwood Elementary and All About The Kids. Our program has built relationships with both places over the past couple years, and the team looks forward to the events each year. We want to thank both Erica Sleek and Kenwood principal Martha Fether for allowing us the opportunity to be involved in our Bowling Green community.”
