Bayer, Dunn Named Pizza Hut Athletes Of The Week

Each week, the Bowling Green State University Athletic Department names the Pizza Hut Athletes of the Week, as selected by the athletic communications department based on their athletic performances from the previous week. This week's winners are football player Alex Bayer and volleyball player Ashley Dunn.
Male Athlete of the Week
Alex Bayer, a redshirt junior from Pickerington, Ohio, recorded career-bests in receptions (five), yards (94) and touchdowns (two) in the Falcons' 24-10 win at Akron Saturday. Bayer's first touchdown came on a 60-yard reception, also a career-long, and he added a 12-yard score in the fourth quarter.
Female Athlete of the Week
Ashley Dunn, a junior from Bowling Green, Ohio, averaged 5.25 digs per set and had a .973 serve receive percentage as BGSU improved to 6-0 in MAC play with a three-set sweep of Miami and a five-set win over MAC preseason favorite Western Michigan. Dunn had a career-high 29 digs against WMU and was perfect in 26 serve receive attempts.
