Women's Golf Leads Butler Fall Invite After Day One

The Bowling Green State University women's golf team used a balanced effort to claim a five shot lead after 18 holes of action at the Butler Fall Invitational in Indianapolis, Ind.
BGSU opened the action with a team score of 300 and will begin play with a marginal lead over three different schools. Bradley, IUPUI and Eastern Illinois all trail by five shots after finishing with a 305 on Monday afternoon. Indiana State (309) and Cleveland State (313) look to be in striking distance as well.
While the Falcons will be looking to win their second tournament in as many weeks, BGSU has a chance to earn some individual achievements as well. Shelby Wilson will enter the final round with a one shot lead over Bradley's Danielle Lemek heading into Tuesday morning. Wilson fired a 71, matching her career-best to finish day one with the tournament lead.
Wilson wasn't the only Falcon to have a career day. Sophomore Patricia Holt destroyed her career-best by three shots, shooting a 74 to sit in a tie for sixth.
Freshman Lily Bartell is tied for 14th after carding a 77, while senior Amy Ruthenberg is tied for 18th with a 78. Bailey Arnold, who leads the team in seasonal-scoring, shot an 80 and sits in a tie for 28th.
The final round is expected to start at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday morning.
