Anthon Samuel Named MAC East Offensive Player Of The Week

Anthon Samuel has been named MAC East Offensive Player of the Week, announced this afternoon by the Mid-American Conference office. Samuel, a sophomore from Opa Locka, Fla., rushed for 181 yards on 29 carries in the Falcons 26-14 win over Ohio on Wednesday night. Both his rushes and rushing yards from Wednesday night were career-highs for Samuel. He also added two touchdowns in that crucial MAC matchup.
On the year, Samuel has rushed the ball 157 times for 906 yards, scoring 10 touchdowns in just nine games. He now has gained 100 yards in 10-of-18 career games.
For his career he has gained 1,750 rushing yards on 301 carries, good for a career average of 5.81 yards per carry.
The Falcons, along with Samuel, will return home for a huge MAC East matchup on Saturday afternoon, when they host Kent State at 12 pm inside Doyt L. Perry Stadium.
