The Falcons actually took control early and looked like they might run away from IUPUI. Calhoun knocked down a three-pointer and followed with a lay-up to spark a 12-2 run that gave BGSU a 24-13 lead midway through the first. With 4:39 to play, Chauncey Orr made a pair of free-throws that got the Falcons within two at 64-62 and Bowling Green got a stop on the next possession. Calhoun's attempt to tie the game on a lay-up rolled out though, and IUPUI knocked down a three-pointer, leaving the Falcons to chase from behind the rest of the way.
Crawford made two lay-ups in the final three minutes but that was the only scoring for the Falcons and IUPUI put the game on ice with its strong shooting performance.
The Jaguars shot 60 percent for the game after making 15-of-21 shots in the second half. IUPUI also knocked down 7-of-15 three-pointers and the Jaguars went to the free-throw line 26 times, 19 more than Bowling Green.
