Falcon Soccer Programs Earn NSCAA Team Academic Awards Again

BGSU women's soccer team ties for third in nation among Division-I schools
The NSCAA Team Academic Award is given to soccer programs that have achieved a minimum team grade-point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
The BGSU women's soccer program earns the honor for the third time in four years, and the Falcons had one of the top team GPAs in the nation. The Falcons had a stellar team GPA of 3.61 during the '11-12 academic year, tying for ninth in the country among all programs, regardless of division. BGSU tied for third in the nation among NCAA Division-I schools. The Falcons are currently under the direction of interim head coach Kellie Evans.
The BGSU men's program, under the direction of head coach Eric Nichols, was also recognized, with a GPA of 3.07 in 2010-11. Nichols' team was recognized for the third consecutive season, and the Falcons made the list for the fifth time overall.
A total of 717 college soccer teams (220 men, 497 women) across all divisions posted a team GPA of 3.00 or higher and were honored by the NSCAA this season.
