Woods, Matthews Named Pizza Hut Athletes Of The Week

Each week, the Bowling Green State University Athletic Department names the Pizza Hut Athletes of the Week, as selected by the athletic communications department based on their athletic performances from the previous week. This week's winners are football player Dwayne Woods and women's basketball player Jasmine Matthews.

Male Athlete of the Week
Dwayne Woods, a senior from Cincinnati, Ohio, had a team-high six tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, 2.0 sacks and one pass break-up in BGSU football's 21-7 win over Buffalo. Woods and the Falcon defense held Buffalo to 197 yards of total offense, 29 rushing yards (on 29 attempts) and 168 passing yards. Buffalo's lone scoring drive was just 19 yards, following a BGSU turnover.
Female Athlete of the Week
Jasmine Matthews, a sophomore from Matteson, Ill., averaged 12.0 points and 1.5 steals per game as BGSU women's basketball split a pair of games at the Lady Rebel Round-Up, hosted by UNLV. She had six three-pointers in the two games and scored a career-high 16 points in the 64-54 win over UNLV, tying her career-best with four threes. The game against UNLV also marked the first start of her career.
