December 31, 2012 | General, Ice Hockey, Women's Basketball
Each week, the Bowling Green State University Athletic Department names the Pizza Hut Athletes of the Week, as selected by the athletic communications department based on their athletic performances from the previous week. This week's winners are hockey player Andrew Hammond and women's basketball player Alexis Rogers.

Male Athlete of the Week
Andrew Hammond, a senior from Surrey, British Columbia, turned away all 38 shots he faced Saturday, helping the BGSU hockey team to a 3-0 win over No. 17 Niagara in the BGSU Ice Arena. Hammond's performance marked his second shutout of the season and sixth of his career, moving into second place in career shutouts at Bowling Green.
