BGSU battles Bulls Wednesday night at the Stroh Center
The Bowling Green State University women's basketball team, having concluded Mid-American Conference cross-divisional action, will close the regular season with a second swing through the league's East Division ... the Falcons of head coach Curt Miller, coming off a loss in MAC play for the first time in over a year, host the University at Buffalo on Wednesday night (Feb. 15) ... tipoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. at BGSU's brand-new Stroh Center.

Wednesday's game is the Falcons' annual Play 4Kay (formerly Pink Zone) game, in support of breast cancer awareness ... the initiative, created by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA), began in 2007 ... Play 4Kay is an opportunity for a nation of coaches to raise breast cancer awareness and funds for research on the court, across campuses, in communities and beyond ... all fans are encouraged to wear pink to Wednesday's game ... the Falcon players will be wearing pink uniforms (white uniforms with pink numerals and trim, actually) on Wednesday night ... additionally, the Falcon Team Store at the Stroh Center will be selling pink shirts at the game, with a portion of the proceeds going toward breast cancer research ... more information on the WBCA's Play 4Kay initiative can be found on the web at www.WBCA.org.

• The Falcons, as mentioned, are coming off a loss in MAC play for the first time in over a year ... host Toledo scored the game's last eight points to post a 52-50 win over the Brown and Orange on Saturday afternoon (Feb. 11) in the Glass City ... junior Chrissy Steffen had 20 points to lead all players, while redshirt sophomore Alexis Rogers added 17.
• The loss at UT ended a number of impressive winning streaks for the Falcons ... it snapped an overall 13-game winning streak ... • Currently, BGSU sits atop the MAC at 10-1 ... Eastern Michigan and Toledo are a game back with 9-2 records, while Miami is 7-4 ... three teams – Akron, Central Michigan and Northern Illinois – are tied for the fifth overall spot, with 5-6 records ... long story short, BGSU is five games ahead of the fifth-place teams with five games to play, and the Falcons currently hold the tiebreaker with each of those three teams (BG has one more game remaining against Akron).
• Despite the loss at UT, BGSU head coach Curt Miller is performing one of his top coaching jobs in his 11 seasons at BGSU this winter ... Miller and his staff have orchestrated this season's success with a very youthful squad ... nine players on the roster are either freshmen or sophomores ... the Falcons lost six players, including four starters, from a year ago ... that group of graduates combined for nearly 5,500 points, 2,400 rebounds and 1,000 assists in their BGSU careers.
