April 16, 2012 | Softball
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio. -- The Bowling Green State University softball team is coming off of a solid week, completing a 4-2 record, including a 3-1 record in MAC play. The Falcons started with a split against Detroit midweek, before moving on to conference rivals Eastern Michigan and Central Michigan. The Brown And Orange swept EMU in a conference doubleheader Friday, before splitting with the Chippewas to complete the weekend. The Falcons will finish their eight-game home stand with a mid-week doubleheader against out-of-conference opponent Eastern Kentucky, before returning to MAC play in a two-game road series against Toledo this coming weekend. Bowling Green has never beaten Eastern Kentucky, falling to the Colonels in their only meeting back in 2007. The Falcons hold the all-time series advantage over Toledo, with a record of 59-34 overall. The Falcons split with the Rockets last season on the road, losing the first contest 4-6, before defeating Toledo 10-2 in the second game.
