Jones Named MAC East Defensive Player of the Week

Chris Jones, a member of the Bowling Green State University football team, was named the Mid-American Conference East Division Defensive Player of the Week following his efforts versus Idaho.
The senior defensive tackle recorded five tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks in BGSU's 21-13 win over the Vandals. Jones and the defense allowed just six yards rushing on 20 carries last Saturday night versus Idaho.
Jones has now won the award four times in his career, all BGSU wins. In 2010 he had 3.5 sacks in a win at Central Michigan, and earned the award twice in 2011 versus Idaho (2.0 sacks, 3.0 TFL, 1 FF and a safety) and Temple (3.0 sacks).
The senior has 122 career tackles, 31.0 tackles for loss and 17.0 sacks.
