Women's Golf Set To Compete in Two Tournaments

The Bowling Green State University women's golf team will look to continue its hot start to the season with trips to the Ursuline College Invite (Fri., Sept. 14) and Mary Fossum Invitational (Sat./Sun., Sept. 15-16) hosted by Michigan State.
BGSU is coming off a second-place finish at the Redbird Invitational in Normal, Ill., carding a 54-hole score of 928, outlasting 13 of its 14 competitors. Junior Bailey Arnold finished in a tie for sixth, firing a 229 (76-76-77), while sophomore Shelby Wilson was tied for 15th with a score of 232 (79-75-78).
The Falcons will be sending a single squad to each of the above tournaments. Patricia Holt, Kelsey Benson, Lauren Diehl, Jen Blanchard and Julia Hoffman will be competing in the 18-hole event, hosted by Ursuline College on the Acacia Country Club.
They will be one of eight teams competing: Notre Dame, Hiram, Walsh, Urbana, Point Park, Grove City, BGSU and Ursuline.
Bailey Arnold, Shelby Wilson, Lily Bartell, Hannah Lewis and Amy Ruthenberg will compete this weekend in a 54-hole event on Sept. 15-16 at the Forest Akers West Golf Club in East Lansing, Mich. The course meassures 6,236 yards and is a par-72. Saturday will begin at 9 a.m. and Sunday will start at 8:30 a.m.
