The Bowling Green State University volleyball team will step away from Mid-American Conference action, traveling to Michigan for a Tuesday night contest at Oakland University. The Falcons come into the contest riding a hot streak, as they have won six out of the last seven matches. Bowling Green is 8-9 overall after sweeping a pair of MAC East foes this weekend.

Scouting Oakland
The Golden Grizzlies enter Tuesday with an overall record of 8-11. They are also 2-3 in the Horizon League. Oakland has played three MAC opponents this year—Central Michigan (W, 3-1), Eastern Michigan (L, 0-3), and Northern Illinois (L, 0-3). Rob Beam is the head coach of Oakland, in his seventh year at the helm of the program. OU's leading attacker is Cassie Pelloni, who averages 2.91 kills per set. Amanda Baker leads the defense with 1.11 blocks per set.

Falcons Fly Past Buffalo In Five
Friday night's match at the Stroh Center featured a five-set thriller between the Falcons and Buffalo Bulls. After UB won the first set, the Falcons bounced back to win the second set, evening the match at one set apiece. Buffalo would win the third, giving Bowling Green no room for error. The Falcons would win the fourth set to send the match into a fifth set. In the fifth set, Buffalo jumped out to a quick start, as BGSU was forced into a timeout trailing 9-7. The Falcons would respond, scoring the next six points and eventually taking a 14-10 lead with four serves for match point. UB wouldn't surrender though, as they scored the next four to keep the match alive. The Falcons and Bulls would battle point-for-point until the Orange and Brown would finally put it away at 23-21.

Falcons Zip Past Akron To Improve To 5-1
The Orange and Brown would cruise in Saturday night's match over Akron, as the Falcons never trailed in a three-set victory. Bowling Green would defeat the Zips 25-19, 25-19, and 25-16 to improve to 5-1 in the Mid-American Conference.

The Weekend Ahead
Following Tuesday night's contest at Oakland, the Falcons will return home for another weekend of MAC matches. The Orange and Brown will step away from the East Division for the next two weekends, as they'll turn their attention to the West Division portion of the schedule. This weekend, Bowling Green will face Eastern Michigan and Central Michigan at Stroh Center. Friday night's match will begin at 5:00 p.m. against EMU. Coach Tomic will host Chalk Talk at 3:30 p.m. for any interested season-ticket holders. On Saturday, the CMU match will be the Dig for the Cure game. The first 1,000 fans will receive a free pink rally towel, courtesy of Kroger. That match will also begin at 5:00 p.m.
