Falcon Basketball Ticket Information
TV Release from MAC Office
The schedule includes four BGSU women's basketball games and three Falcon men's basketball contests. The women's games slated for broadcast include the Falcons' home game vs. Northern Illinois on Jan. 26, along with road trips to Ball State (Jan. 15), Central Michigan (Jan. 18) and Toledo (Feb. 2).
The men's television schedule includes a pair of games in MAC play – the home game vs. Akron on Feb. 9, and the Falcons' game at Western Michigan on Jan. 19. Additionally, BGSU's regular-season opener vs. USF on Nov. 15 will be aired on ESPN3, in a rematch of last year's wild, triple-overtime affair.
On Tuesday afternoon (Oct. 15), the conference office announced a 55-game men's and women's basketball regional television package produced and distributed by the new home for MAC basketball – Time Warner Cable Sports Channel (TWC). The 55 scheduled games are part of the largest men's and women's television package in league history. In addition, there will be 15 men's basketball games aired live on ESPN branded networks.
All games will be produced in high definition, available to Time Warner Cable subscribers and offered to ESPN for inclusion on ESPN3, Watch ESPN and ESPN Full Court (blackout restrictions may apply). TWC will also work with affiliates in the MAC footprint concerning distribution in Michigan, Illinois, and Indiana. More information concerning the non-TWC affiliate clearances, including Buckeye Cable Sports Network (BCSN/Toledo) and Cox Cable (Greater Cleveland) will be available this fall.
The Women's basketball schedule will tip-off on Saturday, January 4 as CMU hosts UT in a West Division showdown. Men's hoops conference play begins on Wednesday, January 8 as Kent State will host Ohio.
In March of 2014, six (6) games (second round, third round & semifinals) of the MAC Men's Basketball Tournament will be broadcast live, while three games (semifinals & championship) of the Women's Tournament will air live.
The men's basketball Falcons will open the Stroh Center doors this Saturday (Oct. 19) for the Orange and Brown Scrimmage, which will begin at noon. Then, Falcon fans can prepare for a pair of home doubleheaders when November rolls around.
On Saturday, Nov. 2, each team will play an exhibition game, with Louis Orr's men's squad facing Malone in a 2:00 p.m. start, and the women's basketball Falcons of Jennifer Roos will meet Tiffin at approximately 4:30 p.m.
The men's team has a home game on Nov. 9 against Earlham, and both teams play at the Stroh Center the following Friday (Nov. 15), as the women's team opens the home portion of the regular-season slate with a 6:00 p.m. game vs. Niagara, with the men's basketball Falcons facing USF in that ESPN3 game at 8:30 p.m.
