Sol Depetris Signs with Falcons

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – Bowling Green State University women's basketball coach Fred Chmiel has announced the addition of Sol Depetris to the program. Depetris, a 5-7 guard, will join the Falcon family for the 2026-27 academic year.
Depetris, an incoming freshman, is a native of Argentina. She has represented her country at multiple levels, including the FIBA U17 World Cup in 2024 and the FIBA U19 World Cup the following year.
At the 2024 event, DePetris averaged 12.9 points, 3.4 rebounds and 3.4 assists in seven games in Mexico. She averaged 6.5 ppg, 2.2 rpg and 3.2 apg at the 2025 event, including an 18-point performance vs. Brazil in Argentina's final game in the tourney.
Depetris plays club ball for Club Union Florida in La Liga Femenina, and averages 11.2 points and 2.1 assists per contest.
Her international experience also includes participation in the South American U15 Women's Championship in 2022, the FIBA U16 Women's Americas Championship and the South American U17 Women's Championship in '23, and the FIBA U18 Women's America Championship in 2024.
"Sol is a great talent who has a love for basketball," said Chmiel. "She is a student of the game with a flair that will excite our fans and energize the arena. She is a versatile guard who can play multiple positions. She has international experience with club and FIBA play."
