Softball Announces 2013 Winter Camp Series

Bowling Green State University softball coach Shannon Salsburg has announced that registration is now open for the 2013 BGSU Softball Winter Camp Series. The BGSU Winter Camp Series is intended for all ages. Athletes will learn and exhibit offensive skills, defensive skills, pitching, catching and baserunning through drills and games.

The camp will take place on Saturday, November 16, 2013 at Perry Field House. The camp will break down into five sessions throughout the day, as each session will last approximately an hour and a half. Players that are interested need to complete the medical forms found by CLICKING HERE, and bring the forms with you the day of the camp. The schedule for the camp is as follows:
Saturday, November 16, 2013
Session 1: Pitching 9:00 am – 10:30 pm $60 All ages
Join Coach Wright and her pitching staff for an overview of the fundamental mechanics that are essential to being a dominant pitcher at the collegiate level. Pitchers will focus on drills to enhance pitcher speed and endurance as well as the drills used by the staff to improve and perfect location of all pitches.

Session 2: Catching 9:00 am – 10:30 pm $60 All ages
Campers will be introduced to the techniques and drills used by the BGSU catching staff. Focus will be placed on the basic mechanics needed to support your pitching staff, such as blocking, framing, and throwing footwork. Come learn the secrets to being the best catcher you can be!

Session 3: Power Hitting 11:00 am – 12:30 pm $60 All ages
Join Coach Salsburg and the BGSU team as we introduce our daily drills and offensive philosophies. Emphasis will be placed on creating more power and consistency in your swing from load to extension. We will introduce drills using all 3 parts of the plate.

Session 4: Infield 1:00 pm – 2:30 pm $60 All ages
Join Coach Wright and the BGSU infield as we introduce our daily drills that have made us one of the best infields in the MAC. The camp will focus on throwing mechanics, footwork, glove work and more. Join us as we give you the drills and skills needed to play at an elite level in the dirt!

Session 5: Outfield 1:00 pm – 2:30 pm $60 All ages
Campers will be introduced to the techniques and drills used by the BGSU outfielders. The camp will focus on throwing mechanics, do or dies, fly balls, and footwork. Come learn the secrets to being the best outfielder you can possibly be!
Additional Information
• Each team will have sessions focused on hitting, baserunning, defense, sport specific training, team building and mental training.
• Athletes need to bring personal equipment, such as gloves, bats, cleats, tennis shoes, catching gear and helmets
• Lunch will not be provided
