Schmiedebusch Named MAC East Special Teams Player Of The Week

CLEVELAND, Ohio - For the second straight week, Bowling Green State University has had a player named MAC East Special Teams Player of the Week, as senior punter Brian Schmiedebusch was honored on Monday by the Mid-American Conference office.
Schmiedebusch (Ottawa, Ohio) punted four times and averaged 43.0 yards per punt in a 49-0 win over Ohio on Nov. 12. Â He downed two punts inside the Bobcats' 20-yard line. His first punt came in the third quarter, a 40-yarder which was downed at the one-yard line. The only punt returned by Ohio went for -4 yards. His final two punts, which traveled a combined 97 yards, were unable to be returned.
Last week, Tyler Tate was honored after a 7-for-7 performance at Miami.
Bowling Green travels to Eastern Michigan on Saturday for a 1:00 p.m. kickoff on ESPN3.
