Falcons Celebrate Christmas Day Before 2013 LCPB
December 25, 2013 | Football
DETROIT, Mich. - The Bowling Green State University football team celebrated Christmas at the Little Caesars Pizza Bowl on Wednesday. The day started with a final walkthrough and preparations at Ford Field, followed by members of the team serving Christmas breakfast to those less fortunate at The Salvation Army.
After an action-packed morning, the entire team - players, coaches, staff, administrators, and families - gathered for a Christmas lunch and program. After the meal was complete, the players partook in an ugly sweater/Christmas outfit contest, with senior Ted Ouellet taking home "bragging" rights. Following that contest, each positional group performed a skit for the rest of the team and travel party. Among the finalists were the linebackers, tight ends, defensive lineman, and offensive lineman. The tight ends were the first eliminated from that group, as their rendition of "12 Days of Christmas" could not survive the first round of cuts. Next, the linebackers were sent packing, as their skit of "Guess Who" could not stand up with the two lines. It came down to the offensive lineman and defensive lineman. The offensive lineman performed a skit which ran through a "normal" day at practice for the Falcons, while the defensive line performed "12 Days of Practice," a remix of 12 Days of Christmas poking fun at defensive line coach, Coach McDaniel. With help from the entire crowd, the defensive line earned honors of best skit.
