BGSU Women’s Golf Inks Two Early

Bowling Green, Ohio – Bowling Green State University women's golf head coach Stephanie Young is pleased to announce the additions of Madelynn Swank (Hinsdale, Ill./Hinsdale Central H.S.) and Miranda Dubler (Mason, Ohio/Mason H.S.), who each signed a National Letter of Intent to continue both their academic and athletic careers at Bowling Green State University come the Fall of 2014.
"We are thrilled to have Madelynn and Miranda join our program," commented Coach Young. "They both have a true passion for the game and have strong junior golf experience. I look forward to seeing them succeed at the college level."
Swank, who comes to BGSU from Hinsdale Central High School, is the daughter of Tom and Ann Swank. Over her time at Hinsdale Central, Swank has helped to lead her team to a third-place team finish at the 2014 Illinois High School Association (IHSA) State Tournament Finals and fourth overall at the 2013 IHSA State Finals event. Swank also posted three consecutive runner-up finishes at three straight Mid-American Junior Golf Tour (MAJGT) Tournaments this past summer.
The current Hinsdale Central senior, who is the President of the 4-h Club and plays both the violin and intramural volleyball, intends to major in Business at BGSU.
Dubler, who joins the Falcons from Mason High School, is the daughter of Kurt and Robin Dubler. This past 2013 fall season, Dubler helped to lead her Comets team to first-place team finishes at the Middletown Invite, the Centerville Invite, and the Sycamore Invite, while also winning bot the Sectional and District Championships before finishing fifth overall at the Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA)Division I State Golf Championships. During her time at Mason, she finished tied for second-place overall at both the Dublin Jerome Invitational and the Centerville Invitational, while over the summer she earned a second-place finish at the Ohio Girls Junior Championship and took third-place at the Cincinnati Junior Met.
Off the golf course, Dubler, who is a member of the National Honor Society and works with the Down Syndrome Association of Greater Cincinnati, intends to major in International Business at BGSU.
Coach Young and the Falcons will tee-off its 2014 Spring season on Feb. 3-4, as the Falcons will host the Women's Mid-American Match Play Challenge in Lakewood Ranch, Fla.
