QUICK HITS
• The Falcons picked up a 61-56 win at Buffalo Thursday night (Feb. 7), in the process moving into a tie for first place in the MAC's East Division ... BGSU, 6-3 in the MAC, is tied with Akron and Miami ... UB is just a game back of the leaders, with a 5-4 league ledger.
• Senior Chrissy Steffen led the Falcons with 14 points in the win at UB, while five other Falcons scored between seven and nine points for the Brown and Orange.
• Steffen hit her only free-throw attempt of the night ... she leads the MAC in free-throw percentage, both overall (86.3%) and in MAC games ... Steffen is a perfect 19-of-19 from the line in conference contests, and she has hit 26 consecutive free throws ... her last miss came on Dec. 16.
• Steffen has moved into the top-20 on the BGSU career scoring list ... she now has 1,111 career points at BG ... Steffen moved past Stefanie Wenzel (1,099 points from 2000-04) into 20th place on that school list ... her next target is 19th-place Andrea Nordman, who scored 1,164 points at BGSU from 1989-93.
• Steffen hit three three-point field goals vs. the Bulls, and now has made 162 in her career ... that total is good for eighth in BGSU history ... Steffen passed Angie Farmer (160 treys from 1997-2001), and is six triples behind seventh-place Kim Griech (168 from 1999-2003) ... she is just 11 successful three-pointers away from fourth place.

• The Falcons had a season-high 15 steals in the win at Buffalo, with redshirt junior Alexis Rogers leading the way with five and true junior Jillian Halfhill coming up with three.
• Halfhill's steal total tied her career best ... the point guard had a well-rounded stat line on Thursday night, with seven points, nine rebounds and six assists in addition to those three steals ... Halfhill led the Falcons and tied for game honors in both rebounds and assists.
• Halfhill was one of three Falcons to pull down eight or more rebounds ... Rogers and fifth-year senior Danielle Havel each had eight boards as BGSU held a 39-36 lead in that category.
• Through 22 games this season, the Falcons have held the opponent to fewer than 50 points on nine occasions, tying the 'modern-day' record ... the school record is 12 such games, amassed by the 1973-74 team ... the '74-75 club kept 11 opponents under the 50-point mark ... the 2006-07 BG team also held nine opponents to fewer than 50 points, en route to an appearance in the Sweet Sixteen.
• The 60-point mark has been a pretty good barometer in determining BGSU's success this season ... the Falcons have a record of 15-1 when scoring 60 or more points this year ... BG is 0-6 when the offense is held under the 60-point plateau.
• The Falcons have been outrebounded just twice in the last 16 games, and only four times all season.
• Western Michigan's University Arena has not exactly provided the Falcons with many fond memories over the last few years ... four years ago (Feb. 7, 2009), the Broncos nearly knocked off the Brown and Orange before BG pulled out a 79-77 overtime win ... in that game, the hosts had three shots bounce off the rim in the final seconds of regulation.
• Two years ago, BG's last visit to Kalamazoo resulted in a double-digit defeat, as Western posted a 66-55 win (Jan. 29, 2011) ... the Broncos, who entered the game with a 5-15 record, trailed by double digits at the half, but began the second period on a 25-4 run to take the lead for good ... WMU shot over 59 percent from the field in the second half, while BG shot just 22.2%.
• The 2012-13 Falcons have displayed impressive balance during the conference portion of the schedule ... this balance is evident in a glance at the MAC-only statistics ... only two players are averaging more than eight points per game in league games (Rogers and Steffen, at 10.6 and 10.4 ppg, respectively), but eight BG players are averaging at least 4.2 ppg ... all 11 BG players who have seen action have 3.0 ppg or more in conference play.
• The Falcons' conference opponents have averaged just 50.1 points per game and shot only 34.8 percent from the field over the first nine games.
• All 11 Falcons who have seen action this season have scored in double figures at least once ... no fewer than 10 different players have led BGSU in scoring in at least one game this season.
