The Bowling Green State University men's golf team will once again hit the links, this time traveling to Hoover, Ala., for the Samford Intercollegiate on March 4-5. The 54-hole event will take place at the Hoover Country Club and is hosted by Samford University.
BGSU will be joined by an extremely large and difficult field, including Auburn, Belmont, Eastern Kentucky, Evansville, Francis Marion, Furman, Georgia Southern, Montevallo, Murray State, Presbyterian, Samford, Southern Illinois, Tennessee-Martin, Tennessee Tech, Western Carolina, Winthrop and Vanderbilt.
Samford won this event last season with a team score of 882 (291-288-303).
The Falcons are coming off a win of their own, finishing first among eight team in the Mid-American Conference Match Play event, held on Feb. 11-12. The Falcons went 10-3-5 overall in their 18 individual matches.
