Falcons Announce Signing Class
March 19, 2013 | Women's Cross Country, Women's Track and Field
Bowling Green, Ohio – Head Coach Lou Snelling has announced the signing of six student-athletes to the women's track and field and cross country programs at Bowling Green State University. Makenzie Wheat (Aurora, Ind./South Dearborn HS), Aliyah Gustafson (Iowa City, Iowa/City HS), Becca Schott (Montgomery, Mich./Coldwater HS), Brittney Darah (Waterville, Ohio/Anthony Wayne HS), Rachel Durbin (Memphis, Mich./Armada HS) and Jody Musser (Massillon, Ohio/Jackson HS) will all compete for the Falcons beginning in 2013-14.
“This group of six student-athletes is a great start to our overall recruiting class for the year,” Snelling said. “We are excited to have them join our family. They address areas that we need more ability in and they get us closer to having the depth to reach our goals. The common theme with these ladies is great athletic potential and proven success in the classroom. They also understand the high goals we have set for the program from day one. They know the focus, work ethic and accountability it will take to reach those individual and team goals. That being said, we are still working to round out this recruiting class and are excited about the potential athletes we can add to this group.”
Listed below are bios for each of the six student-athletes.

She has improved steadily during the past few seasons and has begun her senior season indoors picking up right where she left off last year at the Indiana State Meet. That is a very exciting indicator of what the possibilities are for her senior season outdoors. Makenzie is a fantastic student as well and will be a tremendous academic representative of our program."

Assistant Coach Matt Conly:
"Aliyah is a very exciting recruit for us for a variety of reasons. She is a three-sport athlete who excelled for City High School on extremely successful volleyball and basketball teams. She has tremendous size and athletic ability and has really just scratched the surface of what she is capable of as a thrower. As she shifts her focus to only track and field at the collegiate level she is going to develop extremely well as a thrower. Aliyah is incredibly bright and ambitious with the personality to match. She was a great fit with the girls in our program throughout the recruiting process. We are very excited to be adding Aliyah to our program."
