Final Results
The Bowling Green State University men's golf team finished fifth at the Detroit Golf Club Invitational on Friday afternoon with a 36-hole score of 741 (388-353). The tournament featured a unique format with each team competing with six golfers, while using five scores.
Michigan won the tournament with a score of 709. Xavier finished second (722), followed by Eastern Michigan (725), Toledo (725) BGSU (741) and Dayton (742).
Wes Gates returned to his earlier form, finishing tied for 11th with a 36-hole score of 145 (77-68). Newcomer Ryan Triller was tied for 19th with a 147 (76-71).
Other Falcons to compete were Joe Cooper (78-71--149, T-28th), Holden Pahr (80-70--150, 32nd), Josh Bialecki (78-73--151, T-33rd) and Chris Melvin (79-80--159, 41st). It was the first action of Bialecki's career.
Charlie Olson finished 10th with a 144 (74-70), competing as an individual. His score was not available for the team.
BGSU will return to action on Monday at the Mount St. Mary's Invitational.
