Kayla Velasquez Sets New PR In Discus

Columbus, Ohio – Kayla Velasquez set a new personal best in the discus as Bowling Green had two athletes compete on day one of the Jesse Owens Classic, hosted by Ohio State, Friday night.
Velasquez and teammate Taylor Decker both threw the discus at the meet. Velasquez, a freshman, finished 13th out of 31 competitors with a distance of 143-feet-1. Decker, also a freshman, was just shy of her personal best with a throw of 130-10 to place 25th.
Bowling Green will be back in action Saturday for full action at the Jesse Owens Classic.
