Falcons Fourth at Colonel Classic After 36 Holes; Arnold Tied For Fourth

Third Round Tee Times
The Bowling Green State University women's golf team carded a 36-hole team score of 613 (307-306) to sit in fourth-place among 14 teams at the Colonel Classic. The score of 613 is the fifth-lowest 36-hole score in the history of BGSU.
Fellow Mid-American Conference member Toledo leads the field with a score of 596. Eastern Kentucky, the host of the event, is second (608), with Ball State (609) in third. Other MAC schools include Ohio (619) and Akron (624), who sit in fifth and seventh.
Leading the way for the Orange and Brown was junior Bailey Arnold, who carded back-to-back 74's for a total score of 148. The Cincinnati, Ohio native is currently tied for fourth among the 87-player field. Ball State's Jenna Hague leads the tournament with a 146 (74-72).
Arnold wasn't the only Falcon to shine on Friday afternoon. Senior Amy Ruthenberg opened with a disappointing 80, but rebounded in a big way, carding a career-best 74 in round two. Ruthenberg will enter Saturday's final round tied for 12th.
Other Falcons contributing to one of the best 36-hole scores in school history were Shelby Wilson (77-79--156), Lily Bartell (78-79--157) and Patricia Holt (78-80--158). Wilson is tied for 25th, while Bartell is 31st and Holt is 34th.
Freshman Hannah Lewis leads all individual competitors (18) with a 36-hole score of 156 (78-78). She is currently tied for 25th, but her scores are not available for the BGSU team score.
The Falcons will conclude the Colonel Classic on Saturday afternoon.
