Final Results
The Bowling Green State University women's golf team carded a final round 311 to finish the 54-hole Colonel Classic with a team score of 924 (307-306-311), matching the lowest 54-hole score in the history of BGSU women's golf. The 924 was last set during the 2010-11 season at the World Link Fall Classic.
BGSU finished fourth of 14 teams with that team score, trailing only Toledo (893), Ball State (914) and Eastern Kentucky (915). Other schools from the Mid-American Conference included Ohio (926, 5th) and Akron (937, 7th).
It took an all-around team effort to finish atop the record books with all five Falcons ending the tournament in the top half of the 87-player field.
Bailey Arnold was tops for the Orange and Brown, finishing fifth with a score of 226 (74-74-78), her second-lowest 54-hole score in her BGSU career. Arnold's only lower score was last season at the Redbird Invitational, a tournament she won with a 222.
Amy Ruthenberg played a major role this weekend for the Falcons, recording a career-low 54-hole total score. She would finish the event tied for 15th with a score of 231 (80-74-77). Her 74 in round two was also a career-best.
Also competing for the Falcons were Shelby Wilson (77-79-77--233, T-24th), Lily Bartell (78-79-79--236, T-35th) and Patricia Holt (78-80-81--T-43rd).
BGSU returns to action next weekend when they host the Dolores Black Falcon Invitational, beginning on April 13 at Stone Ridge Golf Club in Bowling Green, Ohio.
