Bartell, Holt Finish Strong On Second Day Of The US Amateur

Charleston, S.C. – Both Lily Bartell and Patricia Holt of the Bowling Green State University women's golf team finished their second round at the 113th United States Amateur Championship on Tuesday.
Playing at the Country Club of Charleston, both Bartell and Holt improved their scores from the day before, finishing the tournament on a strong note.
Bartell, coming off a round of 10-over 81 yesterday, shot a 7-over 78 (38-40), an improvement by three strokes. Teeing off on the back nine, Bartell found her swing after making bogey on the par-5 15th. She went on to par 10 of her last 12 holes, including six straight par's, ending her tournament with a statement.
Bartell finished with a two-day score of 159 (81-78).
Holt, who shot a 13-over 84 (38-46) on Monday afternoon, improved her score by five strokes, firing an 8-over 79 (39-40). Starting on the back nine, Holt swapped bogey for par en route for an opening 40. Holt finished strong, making par on seven of the final nine holes.
Holt finished with a two-day score of 163 (84-79).
Both players needed to finish in the top 64 in order to compete in the match play format, which will take place from Aug. 6-11.
