BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University women's golf team will travel to Waynesville, N.C. to play in the 2013 Great Smokies Intercollegiate, beginning on Monday. The tournament will span over two days (Sept. 16-17) in a 36-hole format, playing at the Waynesville Inn - Golf Resort & Spa.
Senior Bailey Arnold, who will be one of two Falcons' that played in the tournament two years ago, will make her return to Waynesville Country Club. Arnold compiled a two-day score of 149 (77-72), leaving her only five strokes outside of the top 10.
Meanwhile, Patricia Holt, who is now a junior, also competed in the Great Smokies Intercollegiate in 2011. Holt carded consecutive 80's for a two-day total of 160.
Eighth year head coach Stephanie Young will feature a lineup of Lily Bartell, Arnold, Holt, Hannah Lewis and Mikayla Baer.

Both Lewis and Baer are coming off strong showing in the Redbird Invitational last week. Lewis finished with a 54-hole score of 230 (75-75-80), as she fired a career-low 75. Baer, who played in her first collegiate tournament, shot a team-low 74 on the final day, carding a 54-hole total of 232 (79-79-74).
Appalachian State, Eastern Kentucky, Mercer, Methodist, Presbyterian, Samford, Tennessee Tech, The Citadel, UAB, USC Beaufort, Western Carolina and Western Kentucky will be joining BGSU in the field of 13.
The Falcons will then travel to Cleveland, Ohio to play in the Cleveland State Invitational on Sept. 23-24 before heading to Finshers, Ind. to play in "The Preview" on Oct. 7-8. The BGSU women's golf team will then wrap up their fall season with the Rocket Classic in Port Clinton, Ohio on Oct. 14-15.
