Vikings sign Jorden to Reserve/Futures Contract
The Minnesota Vikings announced on Friday (Jan. 3) that they have signed former Bowling Green State University football player Kamar Jorden to a reserve/futures contract. A reserve/futures contract can be signed by any player that was not on an active roster at the end of the regular season. Jorden, who has played in both the Arena Football League and Canadian Football League since graduating BGSU in 2012, was a two-time first team All-MAC player at Bowling Green.
A native of Darby, Pa., Jorden played in and started all 24 games during his two seasons with the Brown and Orange. He had 174 receptions for 2,198 yards in two years. He had 10 100-yard receiving games and 16 receiving touchdowns during his two years as a Falcon.
This will be Jorden's second stint with the Vikings in his career, as he was signed as an undrafted free agent after graduating from Bowling Green in 2012. He was later waived after missing the entire preseason due to injury. Jorden is the fourth Falcon under NFL contract, as Shaun Suisham (K, Pittsburgh Steelers), Kory Lichtensteiger (OL, Washingston Redskins), and Chris Jones (DL, New England Patriots) are also under contract.
