Recapping Day One At The Camellia Bowl
December 18, 2014 | Football
MONTGOMERY, Ala. - Day one at the 2014 Raycom Media Camellia Bowl was a success for the Bowling Green State University football team. The day began with practice in Bowling Green, before the team loaded the buses and drove to Toledo for a flight to Montgomery. Getting off the flight in Montgomery, the Falcons were greeted by Camellia Bowl committee members. The warm welcome continued upon arrival at the team hotel. Team dinner at the Union station in Montgomery was catered by Dreamland BBQ, and the team was treated to ammenities such as corn hole games, video games, and other entertainment before and after dinner. The gift suite was open following dinner, where the team had the chance to choose which gift(s) they would take home with them from Montgomery. The rest of the night the team was able to relax in the players' lounge with some snacks, video games, and TV.
At the end of the night, Voice of the Falcons Todd Walker caught up with Jacob Bennett and Nick Johnson to talk about day one at the bowl. Several Instagram posts from throughout the day are also available below.
Day two has a lot in store for the Falcons in Montgomery. Among the activities planned are practice, a tour of the Rosa Parks museum, team dinner at the Alley station, and a comedian to entertain both teams at night. A full recap of day two will be available on Friday morning.
