EMU Invite Final Results
Ypsilanti, Michigan – The Bowling Green State University swim and dive team placed second in the 2014 Eastern Michigan University Invitational Dec. 5-6. The team won eight events, beating out Oakland, Ball State, Wayne State and Olivet Nazarene. Host school EMU took first place. This is the second time this season BG has defeated Ball State and Oakland.
"We had a chance to experiement with some different things for different people. We tried out different events, strategies and mixed up some relays and things of that nature," Head Coach Petra Martin said. "I'm happy with the way we worked together as a team and liked the energy we had."
After day one of competition, the team sat in third place with 265 points. EMU led the field with 305 points, followed by Oakland with 290.
Estela Davis recorded two first place finishes at the meet. In the 200 backstroke, she broke the EMU pool record, swimming a first place, NCAA B cut qualifying time of 1:57.80.
