Black, Pleger Named Pizza Hut Athletes Of The Week

Each week, the Bowling Green State University Athletic Department names the Pizza Hut Athletes of the Week, as selected by the athletic communications department based on their athletic performances from the previous week. This week's winners are men's basketball player Cameron Black and track and field star Brooke Pleger.
Male Athlete of the Week
Cameron Black, a senior from Kent, Ohio, averaged 13.0 points and 10.5 rebounds per game as BGSU split two MAC road games. He also had five blocked shots and connected on 60 percent of his field goal attempts. Black had a career high 18 points on 9-of-11 shooting in a last second loss to Kent State and then had eight points, 11 rebounds and two blocks in a win over Ball State.
Female Athlete of the Week
Brooke Pleger, a junior from Saline, Mich., shattered the school record in the weight throw and moved into the top 20 in the country with a toss of 67-feet-10.25. She broke the school record with a throw of 64-5.25 on her second attempt of the day but pushed that number even further with her final attempt. She ranks 18th in the country after the weekend.
