Shay, Rogers Named Pizza Hut Athletes Of The Week

Each week, the Bowling Green State University Athletic Department names the Pizza Hut Athletes of the Week, as selected by the athletic communications department based on their athletic performances from the previous week. This week's winners are baseball player Jeremy Shay and women's basketball player Alexis Rogers.
Male Athlete of the Week
Jeremy Shay, a senior from Garden City, Mich., hit .385 with three doubles and a triple in three games this weekend. His team-high three RBI helped the Falcons to a win Friday afternoon in the series opener, going 2-for-4 with a double and a triple. Saturday, he delivered an encore performance by going 3-for-4 with two doubles. On the weekend, Shay slugged .769 with 11 total bases.
Female Athlete of the Week
Alexis Rogers, a senior from West Chester, Ohio, averaged 17.5 points and 8.0 rebounds in wins over Central Michigan and Buffalo. Rogers shot 61 percent from the field on the week, making 3-of-5 three-pointers. Wednesday, she had 10 points and nine rebounds in a win over West Division leader CMU. She followed that up with 25 points Saturday in a road win over Buffalo.
