BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – Bowling Green State University women's basketball coach Fred Chmiel has announced the addition of Eugenia Ngungo to the program. Ngungo, a 6-4 center, will join the Falcon family for the 2026-27 academic year.
Ngungo, a native of Luanda, Angola, comes to BGSU after spending the past two seasons at Clarendon College in Clarendon, Texas. Last season, she played in all 36 games, starting 34, as the Bulldogs went 33-3 overall, won the NJCAA Region 5 / Southwest District Championship and advanced all the way to the semifinal round of the NJCAA DI Women's Basketball Championship.
Ngungo averaged 5.1 points, 7.4 rebounds and a team-leading 1.3 blocked shots per game in 2025-26, and shot better than 50 percent from the floor for the second time in as many years. She had 4.3 ppg and 6.8 rpg in '24-25, as Clarendon finished with a 22-10 mark.
"Eugenia is a strong and athletic paint enforcer who can rebound and run the floor like a guard," said Chmiel. "She has been listed as high as 16th nationally and number two at her position among junior-college ranked players, and she also was named to the NJCAA All-Academic First Team."
