BGSU’s Holmes Earns All-MAC Third Team Honors

Cleveland, Ohio – Bowling Green State University forward Richaun Holmes was named to the 2014 Men's Basketball All-MAC Third Team, it was announced today by the Mid-American Conference. The teams were voted on by the league's head coaches.
Holmes leads the Falcons with 13.4 points and has registered a new BGSU single-season record 86 blocks on the season. The 6-8 junior, who has started 30 contests this season for the Falcons, is second on the team with 7.5 rebounds per contest and is first on the team in both field goal percentage (51.4 percent) and free throw percentage (70.9 percent).
The forward has totaled five 20-plus point games this season and has registered seven double-doubles on the year. In only two short seasons at BGSU, Holmes has already tied Otis Polk for the most career blocks in BGSU history with 159 career rejections and will set the new Falcons' career record in blocked shots with his next swat.
Entering the MAC Championship Tournament this week, Holmes is second in the MAC in blocked shots (2.8), sixth in rebounding (7.5), 10th in field goal percentage (51.4 percent) and 12th in scoring (13.4).
Holmes was joined on the All-MAC Third Team with Justin Drummond of Toledo, Chris Fowler of Central Michigan, Majok Majok of Ball State and Karrington Ward of Eastern Michigan.
