Falcons Add Two Competitions This Weekend

Bowling Green, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University track and field team will send a limited number of student-athletes to a pair of meets this weekend. Most of those competing will take part in the Toledo Invitational beginning Friday at 9 am. Freshman Kori Reiser and senior Tina Perrine are slated to compete in the discus at the Campbell/Wright Invitational, hosted by Akron, starting Saturday at 11 am.
At Toledo, freshman Gabrielle Edwards is scheduled to compete in both the 100 and the 200, while freshman Brianna Johnson will also run the 100. Sophomore Kera Lamotte will compete in the 200 as well. Junior Brittany Sinclair will run both the 400 and the 400 hurdles with freshman Connor Kempf joining in the 400 hurdles. Junior Allie Reynolds will throw discus and junior Brooke Pleger will toss the hammer.
Edwards, Johnson and Lamotte will be looking to improve their times in the sprints to qualify for the MAC Championships. Sinclair is ranked eighth in the conference in the 400 and 16th in the 400 hurdles and will be attempting to improve her positioning heading into the conference meet in a week. Kempf ranks just outside the top 20 in the league in the 400 hurdles as does Reynolds in the discus. Pleger, who ranks fifth nationally in the hammer throw, will continue to prepare for a long postseason run. In the discus, both Reiser and Perrine are comfortably inside the top 10 in the MAC.
Following the weekend, BGSU will compete in the MAC Championships, hosted by Ohio University, May 15-17.
