August 27, 2014 | Football
Bowling Green, Ohio – Bowling Green State University, in conjunction with BGSU Athletics, has announced a watch party as the Bowling Green football team opens the season Friday night to begin defense of its Mid-American Conference Championship.
The Falcons play at Western Kentucky University beginning at 7:30 pm and the game will be televised on the video board in the Stroh Center following a full day of BGSU Athletics competition. The watch party is open to both students and the general public and is FREE.
BGSU's athletic teams, cheerleading, dance and student organizations will all be present at the watch party and will take part in the exciting event. There will be various in-game events and promotions geared specifically towards students, but all BGSU fans are invited to attend.
BGSU volleyball begins the day by hosting the Hampton Inn Invitational in the Stroh Center. Pittsburgh will play Middle Tennessee State at 3 pm and BGSU will face Dayton at 5 pm and admission for the doubleheader is just $6. BGSU men's soccer hosts IUPUI at Cochrane Soccer Field Friday night at 6 pm with free admission to the contest.
Kick-off at Western Kentucky is set for 7:30 pm in the new era of #FalconFast. The game will be televised live on CBS Sports Network, which is not available on the campus cable package, so this is THE ONLY WAY for students to watch the game on campus. BGSU went 10-4 a year ago and won a Mid-American Conference Championship by defeating previously undefeated Northern Illinois 47-27. The Falcons will play their first game under new head coach Dino Babers Friday night with a frenetic, aggressive style of football that should not be missed.
