Falcons Add Lee To Football Program
January 21, 2015 | Football
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – Head football coach Dino Babers announced today the addition of junior college tight end, Derek Lee, to the football program. Lee has joined the Falcons and will be eligible for the 2015 season. He will participate in practices with the Falcons this spring.
"We are very excited to welcome Derek to our football program," said Babers. "Derek was a very versatile player at both NDSU and Butler and will fill an immediate need for our team in 2015. He comes from a winning background and will fit in very well with the culture that has been created at BGSU."
Lee comes to Bowling Green from Butler Community College in El Dorado, Kansas. A native of Wichita, Kan., Lee played two seasons at North Dakota State University, winning back-to-back national championships at the Football Championship Subdivision. A 6-foot-4, 255 pound fullback, Lee graduated from Maize High School. This past season, Lee earned first team All-Jayhawk Conference at fullback. He was the only player at BCC this past season to have a passing, rushing and receiving touchdown. In total, Lee recorded seven TDs this season. As a redshirt freshman at NDSU, Lee started at fullback for the Bison. Born May 21, 1993, Lee is the son of David and Donna and has one brother, Alex.
